Parallelism for many smaller tasks on many cores

Traditional applications are designed for executing large tasks one at a time - like personal and enterprise computers, but Cloud computing applications need to execute many smaller tasks simultaneously; parallelism is now essential everywhere. Two case studies will be presented. Decomposition techniques to optimize Memcached and simple TBB-like programming model to design high-performance CODEC.
